More Lifebook 2014 Pages

So many things have happened over the last year. I have been blogging over at kkmixedmedia.blogspot.com.au and kkjournaljounrey.blogspot.com.au and neglecting Prettye Junque. The Kreative Koncepts shop has closed and with it goes my Design Team duties. I will continue teaching Journal Journey, and once the mixed media blog has been closed down I will re-publish all of my content here.

I am still working my way through Lifebook 2014, in chunks mostly. I signed up in March or April 2014, so technically my year isn’t done yet. This is a batch of pages I scanned yesterday. I have put the teacher’s name next to my finished page.

Life Book 2014 Week 4

Week 4 Be True To You
Life Book 2014 Week 4 Teacher: Kelly Hoering

I am trying to stick to my original plan when I signed up for Life Book 2014, and that was to follow each lesson as closely as I could. To really step outside my comfort zone and try new things. Life Book 2014 has over 20 teachers, which attracted me because I would be exposed to a multitude of new artists with different approaches, styles, techniques and inspirations. So far, I am have had some mixed reactions to the lessons. Some I love and will definitely re-create in my non-Life Book art journals in a different fashion. Others I am still trying to get my head around, or just not feeling ‘it’.

Supplies: Watercolour paper, acrylic paint (Reeves), dictionary page, sewing pattern tissue paper, music paper, corrogated card, postage stamp, Sizzix die, stencils (Kaisercraft and generic alpha), Kaisercraft stamp, Versafine ink.

Life Book Week 2: An Affirmation Page

Using this grey as a whole background was scary. I gave a nod to current trends in home decor and paired the grey with hits of yellow and teal. It still felt very… grey, so I made the words large and bold to try and bring a bit of ooomph to the page.

Supplies: Acrylic paint, foam stamps (generic alpha and Heidi Swapp), stickers (Smiggle)
